This week has seen at least 4 auctions that we know of at Namejet go into re-auction due to deadbeat bidders. What follows is a list of the domai names in question and the defaulting bidder, as well as the next highest bidder(s)
Multiuser.com - king $1,211 (defaulted) - Re-auction on 9.30 appears to have been purchased by a good buyer.
W3W.com - qatari $2,500 (defaulted), catchname $2,400, Re-Auciton 10.2 won by catchname
Tradewire.com - mind $2,954 (defaulted), dotname $2,854, catchname $2,400 - Re-auction 10.2 won by dotname with catchname 2nd highest.
Solars.com - bidder9999 $6,100 (defaulted), Re-Auction on 10.2 completed, unknown buyer.
Some buyers seem to be clear setups for bidding up, which is a problem regardless of who or why. But certainly it's usually those who stand to profit who are most likely to acted stupidly. Perhaps one day we'll actually find out who these bidders are?
