Here are some good single word or keyword domains available to register as of this morning the 25th of August 2009. Each domain has either a wordtracker rating, google search rating or both.
- smackdownvsraw.net - Clearly a popular search phrase. Great for a fight fan site.
- computerpc.net - Perfect for getting traffic to a pc repair site.
- highschoolgirls.net - The strength of the "High School Musical" series makes this a very popular terms for girls.
- bestcandybars.com - After the big sale of Candy.com, all the Candy names are hot!
- bedrail.net - Good bedrails cost money and are always in demand. This would make a nice main site for the product.
- backdating.org - I only add this because backdating account scandals continue to plague corporate America.
- poundstone.net - The last name of a famous comedian, but also registered in every extension.
olympuscamera.net - TM issues here should keep anyone with half a brain from registering this, but I am sure some unsuspecting non-domainer will.
While browsing NamePros forums, I took notice of a thread started yesterday which has since grown to 20 responses. The title of the thread is "Domainers are Delusional" and take what you will from the contents. However, it is being argued that the nature of buying and selling on forums is perhaps not in top form, or good taste.

This week we saw a mix of activity at GoDaddy. Powerhouse LLL domain SLS.com went for over $20,000 on the auction platform while other keyword domains went for less. Here's a breakdown of this week's results:

ICANN opened the forums for the latest gTLD Guidebook draft in October and closed the commend period yesterday. As always, both very relevant and constructive support and criticisms were lent to the board along with misleading commentary, personal slights and offhand remarks. A larger body of authors have added their thoughts to this latest round and even some noted firms have made their expectations clear.
Among the list of larger corporate entities making contributions to this comment period were Yahoo! Inc., Neustar, Demand Media,, GoDaddy, AT&T, IBM, Visa and Nokia.
Also adding their weight were some frequent contributors including George Kirikos, CADNA and the ICA.
Of note were the number of comments from companies branding themselves ".TLD" or "DOT-TLD" representing their expected gTLD which they hope to be awarded in the future.
As usual we added our comments, this time in regards to the notable open language of gTLD pricing which leaves a gaping hole for Verisign to raise rates on .com and .net domains to hundreds of dollars per year without restraint.
